Mebane on the Move Initiative
Many local parents and families are looking for more convenient and affordable ways to get fit and make local healthy food choices. The Women’s Club designed Mebane on the Move to help create these additional opportunities, educate residents about the benefits of living a healthy lifestyle and introduce Mebane to the many health and fitness options that already exist in the area. The Family Fitness Festival is the first step toward meeting these goals.

Following the Family Fitness Festival, the Mebane on the Move initiative will begin working toward making Mebane a Fit Community by creating wellness opportunities at school, work, home and throughout our neighborhoods. The Mebane on the Move team has a variety of projects in mind to meet these goals, such as creating community fitness programs, developing walking and fitness trails, improving healthy “dining out” options, and working with the Mebane Community Garden. Mebane on the Move is a partnership between the Women’s Club, local businesses, healthcare providers, city government, schools and neighborhoods to make a difference in the lives of local families.
